Kırıkkale University, 2018-2019 Academic Year, Procedures and Principles for Foreign Students Placement for Associate and Bachelor Degree

 

In the meeting dated on 21/01/2010; the Board of Higher Education has decided that foreign students who wish to apply for Associate and Bachelor Degrees by their own facilities in Turkey since 2010-2011 academic year, they have to be a graduate student from high school, have to obtain necessary scores which is identified by Turkish Universities and accepted by the Board, and they have to submit all necessary application documents directly to the related desk at university; then the application will be taken into consideration by university.

 

The Exams for Foreign Students (YÖS) which have been held in 2017-2018 academic year by state universities in Turkey or by the universities’ associations in Turkey or abroad will be accepted by our university.

 

The Foreign Students will be placed in their preferred department in accordance with the principles of the following score calculation:

1.   The calculation is made by adding  60% score of high school graduation and 40% score of Exam for Foreign Students which has been held in the 2017-2018 academic year by state universities in Turkey or by the universities’ associations in Turkey or abroad; and accepted by our university.

2.  If the students do not have any scores of Exam for Foreign Students (YÖS) which has been held in 2017-2018 academic year by state universities in Turkey or by the universities’ associations in Turkey or abroad; and accepted by our university, the calculation is made by taking 60% score of high school graduation.

 

Turkish Proficiency Levels

Level C:  Applicant's Turkish level is sufficient. S/he can begin her/his program which s/he has registered.

 

Level B:  Applicant's Turkish level is insufficient, but can be improved.

 

The student can start his/her program on condition that the student registers to TOMER at Kırıkkale University (Turkish Language Course) by meeting all expenses for TOMER on their own. The student has to certify that s/he has improved her / his Turkish level to C  level at the re-registration period of the following academic year.

 

Otherwise her or his registration to the program will be frozen and s/he  has to continue TOMER at Kırıkkale University and all the expenses for TOMER are met by the student.

Those who will certify their level with sufficiency for Turkish Language with TOMER at Kırıkkale University at the beginning of the following academic year will continue her or his program; if not, s/he will be deregistered and s/he will not be able to continue her or his program.

 

Level A: Applicant's Turkish level is insufficient, and the student cannot begin her or his program which s/he has registered.

 

The student will be on leave from her or his program for one year on condition that the student registers to TOMER at Kırıkkale University (Turkish Language Course) by meeting all expenses for TOMER on their own.

The students who will certify their level with sufficiency for Turkish Language with TOMER at Kırıkkale University at the beginning of the following academic year, will continue her or his program; if not, s/he will be deregistered and s/he will not be able to continue her or his program.

 

Foreign Language Proficiency

Those who have been accepted for the departments with compulsory preparatory class and the departments whose instruction is in English, French, Arabic and Persian;

They have to take the exemption exam held by School of Foreign Languages. Those who are successful will start his/her studies in department. Those who fail are obliged to attend compulsory preparatory classes.

 

General Health Insurance & Payment of Premium

According to Law No. 34 of 6111 and change of Article 60 paragraph (g) of Law No.5510 of the Social Insurances and General Health Insurance Law, Foreign Students who do not have any scholarship have to pay premium themselves in order to benefit from General Health Insurance.

 

We recommend you to look for whether your home country’s General Health Insurance has an agreement with Turkish Republic Social Security Institution or not. If there is not any available agreement, we highly recommend you to have optional insurance and pay premium for your General Health Insurance on time.

 

Kırıkkale University is not responsible for students’ any facilities such as accommodation, health, scholarship and residence permit in Turkey.

The registration cannot be done with incomplete documents and it will be cancelled.
